Carolina Pregnancy Center Yard Sale

One of my missions, as a business owner, is to do one of the most important things God asks use to do, and in a big way.
Jesus says in John 13:34-35,
“A new command I give to you:
Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will now that you are my disciples if you love one another.”

Our first mission was a Yard Sale to benefit the Carolina Pregnancy Center here in Spartanburg.
This cause screams to my heart. A child at only 10 weeks has arm, legs, fingers, toes, eyes, ears, mouth, and a nose, just 10 weeks. The sad reality is that a baby can be aborted up to 24 weeks depending on the judgment of the doctor, so it could be older than that.

A former nurse of an abortion clinic shared one morning on Focus on the Family,
One week at this clinic a stand in doctor filled in while the head doctor was out for the week. The fill in doctor only did ultrasound abortions, which this nurse had never been a part of. She watched the monitor as the doctor prepared for the procedure. The fetus was lifelessly sleeping. As the doctor penetrated the uterus with the probe the baby began to move. As the probe became closer the baby began moving away from the probe. The end of this baby’s life breaks my heart and I will spar you further details. The point is that this baby had enough mental development for it to since danger.

Not only did this baby have arm, legs, fingers, toes, eyes, ears, mouth, and a nose but it also had thoughts and feelings. What this baby didn’t have was a voice or a chance.

Proverbs 31:9
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

You and I let these things happen every day. Because we don’t see them or hear about them doesn’t mean they don’t happen or that it’s ok. An abortion is not the only way. Pregnancy Centers like the Carolina Pregnancy Center educates girls about these other options.

We stared at 4:00pm Friday afternoon collecting items and organizing. People from 3 different gyms, friends, family and people I will never meat donated tones of stuff for the yard sale.

Saturday we began the day at 6:00am and didn’t leave until 12:00 that after noon. I was so impressed that the group got up so early on a Saturday, stayed in the HOT sun all morning and there were no complaints. We all enjoyed the day and each other.

Are you ready for the grand total ?....

Welcome

Remember your senior year of high school? … All of the teachers asked you to “Wright on a piece of paper what you want to be doing in 10 years”. Your freshman year of college your professors ask you to “Wright on a piece of paper what you want to be doing in 10 years”. I have no idea where those papers are but I can guarantee none of them say “I want to teach group fitness classes… maybe do some personal training…, and I think I’ll start my own fitness business”, nor would I have said that my business would be centered on God, but 10 years later, at the age of 30, here I am.

I am so existed to be starting this chapter in my life and could not think of anything I would be more happier doing. Over the past 10 years God has been preparing me for this, and I never even new, funny how he works even when you’re not looking.

These are the stories of my new little fitness business as it grows. I hope the stories of this blog encourages you, puts a smile on your face, helps you grow physically, mentally and spiritually, and shines a light on how amazing our creator is. I hope this blog makes you fall in love with fitness and with God.
